- SiC Coating Processing Technician I

General Position Summary:
 
Supporting Processing area primarily as a systems operator.  Actively participates in all phases as assigned, in the Coating area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for system controls, all operating procedures, and helping to load parts into the vessels.  Operate system controls for the coating process and recording the Coating process.  Helping to unload parts from vessel, remove and rotate chemical tanks, (MTS) used in the CVD process, clean and maintain scrubbers, clean parts before coating.

Other Functions: 
Assist in vessel and systems maintenance, minor trouble shooting, and housekeeping.  Record and report Hydrogen and Nitrogen levels on a daily basis.  Cutting and assembling graphite nozzles, bagging and packing coated products.  Help in design making and placement of coating fixtures, honing and cleaning parts after coating, and cleaning parts using the Ultra-sonic tank.  Inspect incoming and outgoing parts.  Work in Bag Room and Purification as required by production needs.

Job Scope: 
This position operates well within established guidelines with frequent variations and contingencies that occur as a natural result of the process. Position is supervised by Processing Manager.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Position is not supervisory in nature.

Interpersonal Contacts: 
Contact will frequently be made with others in the Processing area, Bagging area, and Shipping area.  Job works closely with maintenance personnel.

Specific Job Skills:
Job requires some computer skills and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of heat treating or chemical vapor disposition  helpful.  Physical flexibility and strength essential.  Must be familiar with MSDS and able to follow Operation Procedures and instructions.

Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or GED required.  Some chemistry and math required.  Heat treating, manufacturing, or chemical experience recommended.  Willing to continue education and study Chemical Vapor Disposition (CVD).

Working Conditions
Job requires close association with a variety of gases and chemicals.  Exposure to non-toxic graphite dust, which is classified as a nuisance dust.  Requires work with high temperatures and vacuum vessels, lines, and scrubbing tanks.  Job requires willingness to work in a cleanroom environment with and around graphite.  Must be able to bend into and lift out parts from deep vessels.  Must be willing to work overtime due to production needs.  Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
